Last week… happened. A copyediting job fell through because of a mistake on the employer’s end. Other efforts didn’t pan out either. I was frustrated, very frustrated. So, I took a break from that side of things to just write.
My main project was on the back burner for about a month, so it’s both a joy and a relief to see it growing again. When you work on a story for hours, day after day, you get to a point where the whole project is in your head—the world, subplots, and characters—and you can see how the pieces fit together. When you can’t work on the story consistantly, it’s hard to get to that point. It’s hard when you have to step away. This week, I worked out so many little kinks as I got back into that zone.
I’m over halfway done with the novel now, and I’m excited about how the story is coming together. Do you want a sneak peek?
